The words my husband said to me after reading this post.
While you may picture me responding rather unkindly to him, my response was this:
“That’s the whole point, dear.”
The word which prompted this exchange was ‘aphorism’.
As you start flexing your writing muscles, you’ll find there are words which do a hell of a lot more than get your point across.
These words carry weight.
The ones you absolutely can not get rid of.
The ones where only that exact word will do.
The ones which help you attract and repel.
These are the words that help you find others like you.
It might take you some time to practice and gain the confidence to find and use them.
But when you do?
Defend them like you’re the last knight standing.
